ModelPress software (consisting of the ModelPress Publisher and the free ModelPress Reader) is a 3D model publishing and viewing system that solves the problems associated with distributing large native format 3D CAD models over the Web or networks to those who do not have access to the original files.
The free version of the Publisher provides conversion of CAD models, where it “presses” them into the highly-compressed, accurate ISF or 3DF (secure) format. The ISF and 3DF formats are viewable by the freely distributable ModelPress Reader or by MYRIAD, which read the published model and allow it to be visualized and measured, but not copied or modified.
The free version also includes visual rights, including password Protection and disabling of printing, cross sectioning, and more; export to 3DS (3D Studio Model) and STL (Stereolithography); full logging; and the ability to expire published models.
Purchasing the licensed version of the Publisher adds additional Pro Engineering format support.
The Reader is an executable that can be a desktop application, or as a component launched by a Web page. The Reader does not require access to a Web network to run, which means that CAD models can be viewed from the desktop or local network, as well as distributed outside the firewall via the Web to online trading exchanges, customers, vendors, suppliers, manufacturing bidders and more.
